Coach Orlando

Coach Orlando is a Travel and AAU coach at SVC with a deep volleyball background that spans both elite competition and dedicated coaching. He competed for the National Team of Venezuela from 1998–2003 and represented his home state of Lara from 1995–2008, taking part in more than 40 national competitions and nearly 6 international competitions at the highest levels of the sport.

He holds a degree in Physical Education with a Master's in the teaching of Physical Education and Volleyball from UPEL-IPB, giving him a strong academic foundation in athlete development, technique, and instruction. He combines that training with his extensive competitive experience to inspire every player to reach their full potential.

As a coach, Orlando has led youth-level teams, state teams for Yaracuy, Venezuela, and selections in inter-faculty competitions, and continues that work today developing and training young athletes at SVC — joining the academy in October 2025 and now in his second year as a Travel and AAU Coach.

His coaching practice is built on discipline, teamwork, respect, and a love for volleyball, helping athletes grow both as players and as people. Off the court, he is the proud parent of a son and is passionate about helping the next generation develop their skills and personal values to find success inside and outside the gym.
