Coach
Jorge's passion for sports took root in Puerto Rico, where he grew up excelling in both basketball and volleyball. He carried that love through high school volleyball and into intramural competition at the University of Puerto Rico, earning a degree in Human Resources Management along the way. Decades later, he still laces up for adult recreational leagues — keeping the player's perspective alive in everything he teaches.
His coaching journey began at Pequeñas Indias Volleyball Club, where he assisted both of his daughters' teams and discovered a natural gift for developing young athletes. That early work reached a high point in 2007 when his U11 team won 1st place in the Yellow Division at the Disney Classic.
In 2014, Jorge relocated with his family to Sarasota and stepped into a new chapter of life and volleyball. For the past 9 years, he has brought his experience and dedication to SVC, working alongside his wife, Coach Tatiana, with the club's regional and travel teams.
Jorge's practices are fast-paced and demanding, built around game-like repetitions and an unwavering commitment to disciplined fundamentals. His teams reflect that standard every time they step onto the court. Away from the gym, he embraces the coastal lifestyle, spending time at the beach with his family.
In his own words: "I'm a believer in disciplined fundamentals. I want girls to love the game, trust the process, and inspire the team. Helping athletes grow on and off the court is my goal as a coach."
